Source: RealAge.com Sidewinder Disc Golf Tournament County and City Parks and Recreation Departments in WNC are joining together to host a unique disc golf tournament for the first time ever on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24. The Region 9 Sidewinder Disc Golf Tournament is a fundraiser to support North Carolina Recreation and Park Association and is designed for all skill levels. There are three divisions available for all skill levels. The divisions are novice, recreation, and professional. The novice will play 18 holes and the recreational and professional teams will play 36 holes at the locations on Saturday, October 23. Play to begin at 10 am. The Tax Department moved out of their offices on the third floor of the County Courthouse where they had been located for more than 50 years. The move allows construction and renovations to begin on the Courthouse life safety tower and addition. Parking for the Tax Office is in front of 35 Woodfin Street or in the Parking Deck on College Street. For more information about the move, call the Tax Office at 250-4910.
