Festival of Lights at Lake Julian Coming Soon

Enjoy the beautiful lights at Lake Julian!Mark your calendar now!

Light up your Holiday nights with the Lake Julian Park Festival of Lights. The show begins on Friday, December 4 and is nightly from 6 - 9 p.m. through Sunday, December 20.

The park is brightly lit with thousands of colored lights and over 50 animated and stationary light displays. The road circling the park becomes a magical journey through tunnels of dazzling lights.

The cost for this drive through presentation is $5 per car, $10 per van and $20 per bus. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Buncombe County Special Olympics.

Adult League Dodge Ball - Sign Up Now

Sign-ups for Adult League Dodge Ball are November 2 - December 14, 2009. Buncombe County Parks, Greenways and Recreation Services is hosting the games which will start January 5 and run through February 25.

East Asheville Library to Extend Hours

The East Asheville Library at 902 Tunnel Road will be open on Mondays beginning November 9. These new hours will be temporarily added during the renovation of Pack Library.

The new East Asheville library schedule will be:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
