Advisory, Watch, Warning? What Does it Mean?

Ever get confused about the difference in a winter weather advisory, a watch or a warning?

Ever get confused about the difference in a winter weather advisory, a watch or a warning?  Here's the difference:

  • Winter Weather Advisory means cold, ice and snow are expected.
  • Winter Storm Watch means severe weather such as heavy snow or ice is possible in the next day or two.
  • Winter Storm Warning means severe winter conditions have begun or will begin very soon.
  • Blizzard Warning means heavy snow and strong winds will produce a blinding snow, near zero visibility, deep drifts and life-threatening wind chill.

Go Fishing - It's a Good Time to Fish at Lake Julian!

Since Lake Julian is a thermal lake (it serves as a cooling agent for Progress Energy) some of the best fishing occurs from October through March.

Lake Julian has an abundance of bass, catfish, brim, crappie and Tilapia.
