Want to Swim Free on July 11?

On July 4 you can get in free by wearing a red, white, or blue swimsuit.Super Sunday Specials will take place at Cane Creek Pool, Erwin Community Pool, Hominy Valley Park Pool, North Buncombe Park Pool and Owen Pool.

All participants pertaining to the events listed below will get in free Sundays between 1 and 2 p.m.:

  • July 11 - Baby Day (all children under age 3) 
  • July 18 - County Resident Day (bring proof of residency) 
  • July 25 - Manna Food Day (bring a canned food item and get in free)

Parks, Greenways and Recreation Board Vacancy

Give Your Input on the Long Range Transportation Plan

French Broad River Metropolitan Planning OrganizationThe French Broad River MPO is currently updating its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The LRTP is a long-term planning document that examines current and future transportation system needs in the FBRMPO region. The time horizon for the updated plan will be 2005 - 2035.

Public involvement is an important component of the LRTP update process. A draft list of highway, bicycle and pedestrian project priorities is open for public comment.

The public can attend our upcoming Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) Meeting on July 22 to make comments about this draft project list. The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Land-of-Sky Regional Council offices, located at 339 New Leicester Hwy, Suite 140, Asheville, NC 28806.
