Skyland Library Used Book Sale

We have a wide variety of books at great prices!The Friends of the Skyland Library are having a used book sale on Saturday, August 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. A preview sale for Friends members will be held on Friday, August 6 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.

Create a Raft for RiverFest 2010

RiverFest 2010 will take place at French Broad River Park on Saturday, August 14 from noon until 6 p.m. Gather coworkers, friends and family members and create a raft for the yacht race.Gather coworkers, friends and family members and create a raft for the yacht race.

There will be live music, cloggers and performances by Asheville Aerial Arts and Baraka Mundi belly dancers. Local restaurants will have booths, and there will be local artists and vendors in the craft village.

Kids can ride, skate, walk, run and skip in costume with opportunities to win prizes for most creative, cutest and funniest in the Kids Parade.
